Wolfbait & B-Girls
3131 W. Logan Blvd. in Logan Square

When you are from Chicago, you cannot help making history a part of your life. Wolfbait & B-Girls, in Logan Square, harkens back to mid-century, when women flocked to the city to make it or break it — wolfbait being the new flock of young ladies; b-girls are the second-rate women they become.

Founders Shirley Kientz and Jenny Stadler have stayed true to Chicago fashion by taking these negative connotations and creating a space for style and aesthetics made for, and by, women. It’s a kind of feminist snub to the historical patriarchy.

The hodge-podge approach of this store is so charming, you may never want to leave.

The storefront is a bit unassuming, located on the busy roundabout corner of Kimball and Logan Boulevard. While its main focus is the in-house label Bruiser and Brazen, there are so many other things to grab your attention. Among the inventive jewelry, one-of-a-kind textiles and art, contemporary accessories and funky gifts, you will only find local wares at Wolfbait & B-Girls.

The hodge-podge approach of this store is so charming, you may never want to leave. Weaving your way through the shelves will guarantee a full basket and empty wallet. But that’s no cause to fret, because shopping independent and local is the best thing you could ever do for yourself and your community.
