Monograms on Webster
1210 W. Webster in Lincoln Park

Nestled comfortably among beautiful brownstone homes and the edges of DePaul’s campus, Monograms on Webster will first catch your eye from the small wooden sign swinging above its entrance. The bright green walls inside draw you into a room full of brightly colored baby clothes, blankets and mugs.

Monograms on Webster specializes in gift items, but what they offer is far from your run-of-the-mill baby shower present or bachelorette party favor. Everything in the store can be completely personalized. And, as the back wall covered with a rainbow of large spools of thread suggests, all embroidery is done in-house.

“My favorite thing about the store is that we know most of our customers by name,” says owner Maribeth Somers. “We know who they are, and they know who we are. I think that’s something to be proud of.”

It’s hard not to be charmed by every detail of the space — one side is stocked with impossibly cute onesies, the other lined with personalized luggage, purses and phone cases.

Maribeth and Jill opened their store in April of 2014 with the hopes of adding personal touches to just about everything.

It’s hard not to be charmed by every detail of the space — one side is stocked with impossibly cute onesies, the other lined with personalized luggage, purses and phone cases. Hanging directly over one of the tables is a chandelier that’s just sparkly enough to stand out — a common theme here with their one-of-a-kind additions to help enhance your next gift for a special occasion, or a treat for yourself.
