THE QUESTION: What is one of your favorite summertime activities in the city?

“I really enjoy riding my bike on the lakefront and stopping at Castaways at North Avenue Beach for ice cold drinks at the rooftop beach bar and some sightseeing!”

— MARK KRAEMER | CONCIERGE AT HOTEL PALOMAR

“Walking through the Wicker Park neighborhood, doing a little shopping and brunch. And definitely sitting outside for pizza at Roots in West Town.”

— JADE THAMASUCHARIT | ENVISIONIT MEDIA

“Bike riding around Northerly Island. You’re in the heart of the city, but you feel so removed from it all. It’s also a great place to catch some sun or a concert.”

— DANA FERM | AKIN SHOES

“I love beach volleyball, Movies in the Park, the IMAX Theater at Navy Pier and of course a White Sox game.”

— CHRISTINA SANTARELLI | THE WIT HOTEL

“Going to the art festivals where you have artists from all over the nation selling their work. I also love to go to the farmers’ markets for fresh fruit and vegetables.”

—  JOSIANE SALTOUN | CONCIERGE AT THE RENAISSANCE CHICAGO

“Going to the beach, particularly North Avenue Beach or Hollywood Beach. You can have it all: volleyball, partying, relaxing, families, people-watching.”

— RYAN DERICO

“To me, nothing beats walking around Museum Campus and Soldier Field with our dogs. It’s so relaxing not doing anything and just taking in the cityscape from down there.”

— PAN HOMPLUEM | AKIN SHOES

“I love hanging out on rooftops, especially ROOF at the Wit Hotel. It’s the best view in the city, and they have the most creative cocktails.”
